Too much food, especially those unnecessary impedes the pancreas from doing its job of secreting insulin. Therefore if there is an insufficient secretion of insulin, the level of sugar rises resulting to diabetes mellitus or simply diabetes. Normally people tend to eat refined carbohydrates in the form of cakes, ice creams, biscuits, bread, pudding, along with other sweet foods which increases the risk of high blood glucose level resulting to diabetes. You can still enjoy consuming foods rich in carbohydrates but are advised to limit the intake because it could elevate the glucose to some critical level.
Children are not exempted from developing diabetes. Actually anyone from nine years above can have diabetes. It should be the responsibility of the parent to teach their children when it comes to dietary habits. For a moment allow them, they will eat anything anytime they want not knowing whether it is good or not in the body.
Overeating can lead to obesity which is another factor causing diabetes. Children should not be given candies, jams, cakes, chocolates along with other sweets which are loaded with carbohydrates at the same time foods that are definitely not good for the teeth. Although it is very hard to follow, children must be out on a healthy diet which is essential for their growth and development.
